The idea of running around a large city causing mayhem and chaos in an unlawful manner as been with the gaming public for a few years now in the shape of GTA, this franchise as grown from strength to strength with it’s car stealing and cop evading cappers but will there be a point in the future when people will tire of this concept? Well maybe but new ideas are sometimes needed to give a sequel the improvements it needs to please the critics, here are a few ideas I have thought of.

Instead of running or driving around a city based on the 80’s, the player is placed in a futuristic city filled with futuristic vehicles that levitate above the ground using anti-gravity devices that can ascend and descend as well as moving normally across the ground, with the introduction of this hovering feature the cities will be fully 3D with traffic capable of hovering from just a few inches above the ground to over 80 feet in the air giving the player more area to explore and cause chaos, players start equipped with a jet pack strapped to their back giving them the option of hovering without needing a vehicle but just like the other GTA games the vehicles offer a much faster form of transport and offer protection from enemy fire.

The weapons will be upgraded from the more traditional baseball bat and pistol to fusion cannons and plasma ray guns that can be found in various places across the city, some of the more powerful weapons will be located in specific places such as science labs, army barracks, weapon storage warehouses and bunkers hidden underground. The player can use these weapons to their full effect anywhere across the city causing complete destruction to the buildings and vehicles, some buildings will require the player to use some kind of explosion to blow open a wall that could be housing an important mission items or new weapon.

Instead of just stealing and dumping a vehicle in the street, the player can drive their new set of a futuristic wheels to a dodgy car garage who will customize it to your satisfaction for a fee and build weapons and extra armour onto the vehicle giving the player their very own hovering tank.

Players don’t just go around blasting their environment without some sort of trouble from the police, the city police have their very own armoured hovering tanks that pursue the player across the city to keep the player on their toes, experienced players can use other vehicles and obstacles to loose the cops or use force to eliminate them.

I hope you liked my post.

If the cars were hovering it would be entertaining to watch one car fall onto another car below it when you shot off a rocket.

Funnily enough, I was thinking nearly exactly the same thing a few days ago. Floating cars and all - imagine like The 5th Element, yes?

But it won't happen.

All I'd like to see is to be able to fly that UFO in the Film Studios (Vice City) - you could abduct coppers : )

No need to imagine, go to the multi story car park in GTA3 and drive up to the top and go up the little ramp, drop off, SPLAT.

There is also a cheat for flying cars anyway, so problem sorted.

Yes, but imagine the hilarity of diving head-first on top of some unsuspecting moron in a space-ship thingy and watching their body parts exploding all over space.

But I still like the game how it is...

It would be great, but let's face it, it isn't really going to happen, is it?
