Ive just filled a 300GB HDD and already have a 200GB drive that is full. Over 500GB feels like nothing these days. I can easily free up some space by burning some files to a DVD in a matter of minutes. It takes me back to the days of my first computer which had a 1GB HDD and I thought Id never be able to fill it. How foolish was I?

Now if they could create affordable large capacity solid state media surely that would be far better than old hard disc technology? Less prone to wear and tear, knocks and so much faster.

Saw that Acer have created a sub £100 PC with a 2 Gig solid state drive in place of a hard drive. Hardly a vast amount of space, even for Linux software.
