Ive just filled a 300GB HDD and already have a 200GB drive that is full. Over 500GB feels like nothing these days. I can easily free up some space by burning some files to a DVD in a matter of minutes. It takes me back to the days of my first computer which had a 1GB HDD and I thought Id never be able to fill it. How foolish was I?

The first hard disk I ever bought was 80MB and it cost me £400.

Now I have 1TB in my iMac ...

I've got 260gb of space and have never come that close to filling it. I've got like 4 OSes installed in some shape or form on that too.
I guess I don't have as much pron as you guys.

Believe it or not but I have zero porn - mine's music (mostly in lossless format), encoded versions of most of my DVDs and remaining DVD source files waiting to be encoded.

I've only ever had laptops in my house, getting them off some scheme for teachers (not for me personally) so the hardrive is a modest 80GB.. though I only have about 20GB of stuff because I don't put that much music through it and if I do it's only to write it onto my iPod, then it's deleted after that.

Much program files, music and video here too; my brother has more, and as a result has 500 Gb or so, whereas I must only have 200 Gb. I've also got around 1-2 Gb which is taken up by random images!

Amazing to think that on my old P120, after its final upgrade in the mid-1990s, had a massive 2-3 Gb of diskspace!

1GB's still a lot if you've got next to no space, or a Pal 360. :(

And if you've only got a 512Mb SD card, it's a lot compared to how much stuff you can store on your Hewlett-Packard iPaq!

Do you have it lossless because you have the space or do you have the space because you like to store it lossless? If that made sense.
Just wondering.
