I used to get real pains because I had, apparently, strained my ligaments and cartilages, just buy playing way-too-much football, while growing up, with growth-spurts, and all that.
So I had to give it up.
And I miss it! :(
It all seem OK, now, though. But I do... sometimes get the odd pain here-and-there from lifting a lot of heavy things at work, or doing too much within a certain space of time. But the pain's never as bad as it used to be.
I remember, one time, when I was carrying an old radiator out our house...
It was only small, but heavy-as-hell for me as a young teenager! I got to the back-door that leads into our conservatory, and I felt this slight 'tweak' on my right-knee ligament, and without very-little pain, I just fell to the floor, and dropped the radiator.
The wierdest thing about that is that it didn't seem to hurt...
Doesn't really bother me.

*walks away casualy*
*Tries to give chase...remembers he just got kicked in the knee...falls on the floor and cries like a little girl*
*runs*
Anyway, it was really quite painful and every so often I would get the feeling like my knee was just slipping in and out, then I wouldn’t be able to walk for a few hours.
I do a fair amount of exercise using my local gym 4 times a week. Although I had to be careful when I first started going, I found that building the muscles around it added much support, and now I don’t have problems with it anymore.
