Ok, go on "But Microrubbish/Bill Gates" and the usual cries about that evil company (that you ALL use anyway, so go install Linux or hush, you dirty sanchez)
But for me, at the end of the day, it comes down to one thing and one thing only: Games.
"Xbox is £300, rip-off!!" Blah blah blah, most consoles cost that at launch. Grixy stuck up info about Gamecube being £349 so let's not go there (and yes I know it was a catalogue price but I'm right anyway).
I don't care if it costs £300, I can afford that.
I don't care if America gets it cheaper, that's life, UK is high-priced rip-off country for everything (except beer, we're allowed to get mashed cheaply and not notice everything else).
Nope, the Xbox has the mad games and I want them.
I'm not interested in Gamecube, because I'm not retarded (although many would argue otherwise, but to you I say "meh").
Halo will own any other FPS out there, full-stop. Don't start waving Perfect Dark at me,because if all you can do is promote an old game, you've lost already.
Strange thing is, it doesn't seem to be Sonyphiles screaming about the Xbox, more the Nintendo camp.
Maybe that's because the N64 was a joke?
£249 at release, with rubbish games apart from Mario64 which I did enjoy, I'll admit.
But c'mon, Goldeneye and Zelda do not a console make.
"Bill Gates is evil". Maybe, but if I'm getting a quality console at a price I can afford with games that look amazing?
Lucifer himself could come up and wave his biforcated tail at me and I'd hand over my money and get new console.
I don't care, it's all about the games baby, nothing else.
I had an N64, and it stank.
I had a PSX and it rocks.
I have a PC and it's fantastic.
I have a PS2 and finally it's starting to show what it can do.
By all means attack a console with no history or prior incarnations, just make sure your own machine can withstand jokes or comments, otherwise you'll look purdy foolish when Halo smash Luigi's Mansion wiv space-shooter
> Edge gave Halo 10/10. This makes me think the game is good.
Dont say that or i start wanting one.
Hmmmmm....might be worth a butchers.
NOOOO!
Must resist. Nasty expensive console.... Lovely second hand DC....AAARRRGGGHHH
*men in white coats drag GH away and back to his cell*
I mean, what is the student loan there for if not to blow on loadsa cool stuff!
Seriously though, i may wait till they have been out a year or so and have come down a load! By the time i am done with Toca 2 (i blame FM for that) they will be cheaper anyway. By that time i can make an 'informed' choice about which i prefer rather than picking the one which i may be biased towards now!
I may do what i did with the PSX.... get a cheap one out the paper when some kid is obviously desperate for extra cash next christmas!
Plus.. i am still plotting my way to get a DC! Thats my next purchase!
Grixy stuck up info about Gamecube being
> £349 so let's not go there
dammit, that was me.
And I think the Xbox games will be crap, because they just don't appeal to me.
More Gamecube games do, so that's my mind made up. Simple really.
"
:)
I agree, completely.
Also, even though the consoles haven't been released in Europe, they're becoming branded - already.
X box - no longer nerdy and geeky (probably because there're no keyboards, mice or mentions of 'clans' in sight) is now 'ooh, green' and black - and, dare I say 'cool'?
The games do look amazing, the console probably will be amazing, and it's no use Nintendo fanatics stating that the Game Cube has sold more than the X Box - as far as I'm aware, the X Box had a very succesful launch, there were fewer of them than Cube's, so obviously, less would be sold...
The pad looks great, there are loads of developers on boardm, and it doesn't look like a toy.
The Game Cube will probably be very successful, but I think the X Box will better it in every way.
Hollow thing
