The best football game ever made finally came to my gladness, and straight away my gaming urges got the better of me. Pro Evolution for the PS2 of course - the reincarnation of the previous ISS. I have always been the king of all ISS games and I knew that once again I would dominate- against my brother! Yes, the evil killjoy who always breaks my winning streak with sudden periods of luck.

I began my fulfilment to once again conquer the king of all footie games. I chose England and my opponents (com) were Germany. I knew I would win even though it was my first go.
Seeing as this was the first time I had ever played or saw such a class football title I was breathtaken by the whole appearance. The graphics of stadiums, players, crowds and the surroundings were fantastic, but once again ISS has continued its reputation of crap commentary. Nevertheless, I thrashed Germany, 5-0 with great ease to my surprise. Players were very skillful, responsive and their touch is absolutely brilliant. At first-play it didn't disappoint at all, even with the cheesy commentary.

After reading the game instructions booklet I still had difficulty getting used to fancy tricks and tactics on the pitch, so I made my way to the Practice Mode. Once again Pro Evolution caught me by surprise! I was expecting the usual Fifa or old ISS practice mode beginning, but instead I saw the camera show a huge view of the training ground, then my players jogging round the training ground. It was all amazing. After getting over this amazement I finally started training with a normal training mode. I soon got bored of this, so whilst checking the menu I found an insight on how to activate certain functions during the game.
When I selected a tactic, a movie example cropped up showing me with detail how to do certain moves. This turned out very useful indeed and with more practice I was assured of my crown once again.

I was finally at home with Pro Evo, then suddenly the evil being came into my room and demanded a match - he thought he could beat me again! I laughed right in his face with great assurance of victory.

Since I'm such a kind person and I knew I would be victorious, I let the opponent (my brother) choose which teams - club or national teams. He decided he wanted Club teams. I wanted to give him a fair chance so he wouldn't be put-off from the game so I chose Valencia; he chose Barcelona, I wasn't worried though!
Finally, the battle begun and a smirk arose from my face, whilst aggression and determination rose from his. At first I thought I would give him a chance since he was new to it and he wasn't playing that well, but soon I changed my mind and turned fully determined to score the first goal. To my surprise I couldn't! He was actually giving me a difficult match - I couldn't believe it! He took it past one then two, then the unthinkable happened, he scored!!! In the 78th minute in fact and I was totally devastated. My morale dropped, but somehow I was determined to draw level. There was no way I could let him beat me on his first go when I've been playing it all day!
79-80-81-82-83-84-85-86-87-89 minutes passed and still I hadn't managed to reply the compliment from my brother. 90mins and now I felt I was about to explode. The tension was sooo high, just desperate to at least equalise. The whistle blew and it was obviously too late. I slowly bowed my head in shame and disgust - beaten by my own brother! His ego grew rapidly and I just had to have revenge...I eventually won.

Even though I beat him I was still overwhelmed by the defeat. I vowed to be unbeaten on Pro Evolution, but I failed to keep my promise. Obviously he won by fluke and I even told him that, but he denies it.

I hate being beaten at my own game, especially if it's one of my favourite, it seems to bring out the soar-loser feeling in you that you thought you never had. I still see myself as the 'daddy' of Pro Evolution, one defeat isn't going to stop that, but I cannot help the thought of what if I wasn't beating? I've put it all behind me now and my shrink has recently told me to look ahead, so I thought I'd take up that offer.

Since that unforgettable event I have never been defeated, and don't intend to.

I'm still the Pro Evo king!!!

Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
