cut on the back of her head. I has stroking her last night when she came up to me and I got a blood on my fingers and felt a minging gooee thing.I looked closer and she had a huge gash the on her head, it isn't deep but really big. I looked at it again today and the edges have gone yellow, it's not closed up and the fur around it is matted with dirt and blood:S. I think she must have got cut on some barbed wire (We live near a few fields) but amn't sure what to do. Should I leave her to heal it by herself as cats have a great healing process like dogs for some obscure reason or should I take her to the vet? It's not deep enough for stitches or anything but I could ask what they think...If anyone has a cat or similar animal and has any advice please post back.
P.s. Who cares if it's in the wrong forum. This one could use some livening up anyway.

By putting the salt water over it, the cut will clear up FAR quicker, and I doubt it will attack you unless it's an evil cat

My dog was bitten a week ago by another dog. She would have died if it wasn't for the fact that I have two dogs, and the other jumped in and saved her. She was bleeding, but not heavily. We rubbed antiseptic cream into the cuts and she's been fine. Just make sure she doesn't lick the cream off like my dog did. Urgh.
Cover your eyes kitty! Look away from the screen! I'll just let her be for now. I'll take her to the vet if it gets worse. Until then is it really necessary to say things like that lol?

Pour vinegar into the cut, then have sex with the cat.
Trust me, dissolve a little salt in some warm water. My cat doesn’t struggle just gently wipe the wound. Antiseptic would hurt a lot more.
Maybe so but running salt into wounds is soooooo painfull (you sadist) She'd end up screaming and scratching me!. Hmmmmm maybe I'll just put some antiseptic on it. I'm sure I have some in my medicine thing. Do you think that would work too? It kills infections and stuff but it's for humans...I suppose it's not drugs or anything but...hmmmm any advice on that idea?
