He was being interviewed on Xfm last night and they asked him what he thought of the current thing about stars not flying in case of terrorist attacks:

"I think any performer that is too scared to get on a plane is a p***y. Slipknot? They talk of nihilism and hating the world, about life being worthless and you have to be extreme. But they cancelled their show here and postponed it? That's all I need to know. Instead of a mask, wear a dress."

On musicians demanding loads of stuff before they'll perform anywhere (J-Lo, Elton John etc)

I like Henry Rollins a lot.

Henry Rollins has a fat neck.

At his last talking show, he was saying about how he performed at the MTV awards and Pamela Anderson came up to say hello.

"I was stuck for words so I just did the 1st thing that came to mind...*makes noises like seal and claps hands*, so she gets real offended and runs off to get Tommy Lee. He struts over and asks who upset his wife, I stand up and raise my hand and he looks at me, then walks off. All the time she's ragging on him."

I'll never forget one year at Reading (actual year escapes me - probably due to over indulgence) where Rollins had the whole audience eating out of the palm of his hand.

He started talking and everyone was heckling him but within a couple of minutes they were all agreeing with him.

He is a double-hard barsteward, and very cool.

I've been to a couple of his one-man shows and they are excellent.

Sure, he looks like an ape, but if you read any of his books (I can heartily recommend "Pi**ing the in gene Pool" and "Now Watch Him Die"), this guy is very intelligent,literate, expressive and bold.

His music rocks the hard jams as well, althought "Nice" was a tad...well..nice.

"Weight" and "Get some go again" are heavy and intelligent.

I find henry Rollins paradoxical.. He looks like a Neanderthal and with his tattoos and general angriness is quite a scary guy. But underneath that he is surprisingly perceptive and actually very intelligent. He's also a damn funny man as some of his spoken word albums have proved. On top of this songs like "Liar" and "Disconnect" display his ability to make great records.

Could it be that Henry Rollins is the renaissance man of our times? Well, him and Rolf Harris...
