"I think any performer that is too scared to get on a plane is a p***y. Slipknot? They talk of nihilism and hating the world, about life being worthless and you have to be extreme. But they cancelled their show here and postponed it? That's all I need to know. Instead of a mask, wear a dress."
On musicians demanding loads of stuff before they'll perform anywhere (J-Lo, Elton John etc)
"Think of it like this. There's a war on and everyone is needed to help prevent someone from dying in your arms. 'What do you do?' 'I'm a musician' '...ah, well we need a surgeon or a teacher right now, but we'll get back to you if we want a song'. Never forget that you are nothing at the end of the day, you put your entire life-force into a record, and people turn that off when they go out and have a life."
I like Henry Rollins a lot.
hur-hur-hur
They made the stage a bit bigger, but basically it's the "cosy" little place we all know and love. And the photos, I was like "My god, Black Flag! The Police!..er...Dire Straits?..Simply Red?..Nevermind, Black Flag played there."
I like it, played twice now and I still get a kick thinking "Ok Rollins stood there, Mugger threw his bass about over there.."
Seriously, I always wanted to be in a band that played the same places as Black Flag and I managed it.
Without sounding too cheesy, I was on Cloud Nine the 1st time I played there. Was going to "borrow" the photo on the wall of them, but thought better of it.
Damn Dirty Soundman watching me intently
Its like the rock café or sommit when you walk through there - the amount of photos on the walls...
Considering it's a tiny place, I was amazed at the bands that have rocked there.
Excellent
I would have loved to have seen the Police there..
It was an absolute personal highlight stepping onto the same stage as that band and Rollins.
One of my life ambitions was attained.
Only 32 left to go now.
