Can someone tell me how I can have my website's logo appear when someone bookmarks my site. I feel it would attract more customers :)

Anything from version 4 upwards of both Netscape and IE I suppose.

I just need one piece of code that can be plonked into any page, that will detect the browser, and run the correct code to offer "Bookmark this page" and "Make this your homepage" in either browser.

IE I've seen done, as I said, but if the code detected Netscape, it just said put the text "Don't forget to add us to your bookmarks!" instead - not what I wanted!

Thanks for any help. I'm off to look for some books on Java and CGI... I really need to look into this stuff seriously! :-)

I know it can be done in IE, but haven't yet seen it done

Ideally I'd like a universal script that will detect the browser

Is it possible to automatically add a bookmark in Netscape when a user clicks on a link, using Java?

I know it can be done in IE, but haven't yet seen it done in Netscape.

Ideally I'd like a universal script that will detect the browser and give 2 options - either add a favorite/bookmark or set as homepage.

For more info, search

You can create an icon in anything, just save it out as a bmp and then change the file extension to .ico Works everytime... just remeber to keep it to 16x16 and preferablu using system colours.

Trust me on this, I've been doing it for years!!:-)
