ok, can the Cd-writer see and read normal CDs? check movie, sound, programs, mp3s etc.. if reads ok then, hopefully CDs ok.

This determines if the problem is just writing or both reading/writing(burning)?.

ok Nero, have you checked there web site if the software supports your burner?, if so normally says a verison 5.2.3 or whatever?.

other alternative is to use Easy CD creator 5 basic/platium.

the media can some times be a problem, try another media, do u get the same problems burning , same error, at same point, does it burn any of the CD?, try burning 2-6mb file on its only see if that works?

if CD is in fact new they supplied you with Burning software, did it work when you first tryed it and has it just stopped working, may have to re-install software?

yet us know what u try and what happens

Mmmm... I'm using Nero software, and although it’s been a while since I've seen an error-message like that (I dont do that much burning), so I may be offering completely erroneous advice, but you might want to try lowering the speed of the CDROM drive when copying/burning?

I think you might be missing part of the error message, as power going to the CD-Writer wouldn't mention anything about 'calibration'.

The closest I've ever seen before is "Laser power calibration failure" and in the case I saw, it meant the laser was ******.

Might be pointing out something that you already know but from what I can work out there is something wrong with the power going to the cd writer. It is not the right setting from what I can work out by the message you said you got. For I know though I could be completly wrong. wait for someone that knows what they are on about. (Well I was a lot of help)

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Brilliant service.
Love it, love it, love it!
