"The cost of a PS2 memory card is extortionate."

Nowadays the gamesplaying public need memory cards, as games like GTA3 are not going to be finished in 1 sitting. However, just the other day I shelled out 27.99 for a PS2 memory card, and was told it was 'quite cheap' by the un-trustworthy looking bloke in the shop. Is it just me or is 27.99 a bit steep? Thankfully I can now turn my PS2 off, insead of leaving it on overnight.

I thought it took up 4mb? Smackdown I mean. My mates game took up 4mb

True, the card is a little expensive but its got quite a large memory capacity, i have 16 games saved on it with Smackdown 3 which takes up 1000 kb.

It will last you a while.

2 True, sony knows we need mem cards so they can charge pretty much what they want and we have 2 pay!!! i got a deal on mine - PS2 and memory card and 2 controllers for £195 - Cool eh?

I know what you mean, I was getting nowhere on GTA3 without a memory card. And now I can enjoy all my other games to a fuller extent. I am going to get all the characters in tekken tag.

I do agree memory cards are expensive, but considering you will probably only ever have to buy one, its cheaper than a game, and definatly worth it. Without a memory card, I would find a lot of my games boring because I'd be doing the same over and over again.
