I am wanting to sponsor an animal at Edinburgh zoo because...well I'm feeling generous for absolutely no reason. Anyway has anyone else sponsored an animal or have any suggestions on what to sponsor? I'm thinking of sponsoring a chimpanzee but I'm not sure. Oh and just to make this post relevant to this forum emmm I like Nintendo games with animals. Do you?

You should be a comedian Aoe. Anyway I was wondering if anyone had ever sponsored and animal before because I am going to sponsor one at Edinburgh Zoo but don't know what. I have a choice between all the following animals :-

BIRDS:
American pelican, azure winged magpie, Bali starling, black faced ibis, Chilean flamingo, cockatoo, double-wattled cassowary, ducks (various), gentoo penguin, goose, kea, king penguin, lory, macaroni penguin, macaw, owls (various), parrots (various), rockhopper penguin, stork and Waldrapp ibis.

CARNIVORES:
Amur tiger, bush dog, Californian sea lion, jaguar, maned wolf, meerkat, oriental small-clawed otter, Persian leopard, polar bear, red panda, ring-tailed coati, Siberian lynx and snow leopard.

HOOVED ANIMALS:
addax, anoa, babirusa, camel, collared peccary, Grèvy's zebra, guanaco, Kafue flats lechwe, Père David's deer, pygmy hippopotamus, Reeves' muntjac, Rothschild's giraffe, scimitar-horned oryx, South American tapir, southern pudu and white rhinoceros.

MARSUPIALS AND RODENTS:
Patagonian hare, red necked wallaby and western grey kangaroo.

PRIMATES:
Alaotran gentle lemur, Allen's swamp monkey, Barbary macaque, chimpanzee, cotton-top tamarin, Diana monkey, Geoffroy's marmoset, Goeldi's monkey, golden headed lion tamarin, Hamlyn's monkey, L'Hoest's monkey, lion tailed macaque, red-ruffed lemur, ring-tailed lemur, Sclater's lemur, Siamang gibbon, stump tailed macaque, titi monkey, western lowland gorilla and white-faced saki monkey.

REPTILES AND AMPHIBIANS:
Australian ridge-backed monitor, boa, dwarf crocodile, frogs: blue poison arrow, dyeing poison arrow, strawberry poison arrow and Trinidad poison arrow, gecko, lizards (various), newt, python, snakes (various), starred agama, terrapin and tortoise.

I'm leaning towards a Chimpanzee or a Gorilla but amn't really sure. I'm definitely not sponsoring a Penguin though because Edinburgh Zoo has like the biggest Penguin enclosure in like the UK (Don't hold me to that) so it wouldn't make much of a difference. Anyone with any advice just post here. :D

Valid point, sounds like an evil plan by games developers to me.

I wouldnt have donated that much. It was years ago, I forget.

It wasnt just a few quid though.

A gold membership at Chester Zoo will probably be different to one of those at your local zoo.

Was fun though, I liked those frogs for some reason.

I hope a gold thign at that place isn't the same as gold at Edinburgh Zoo Herc. If so that means you donated between £500 and £999 on a few frogs lol.
