I watched a DVD on my PS2 last night for the first time since watching The Matrix on it last November. The reason being that I have a dedicated DVD player.
Anyway, I borrowed the Region 1 version of Natural Born Killers from a friend (FatButcher), and so had to watch it on my PS2.
So... I was using both Region X and the official 2.10 drivers supplied with the remote. And it worked perfectly well. No compatability problems and, more importantly, no lip-sync problems at all in 2 hours of movie. No need to access the self-diagnostic mode, no need to pause and restart, and picture quality that was pretty close to my £750 dedicated player.
Hope that answers all of your questions! :-)
How does that sound?

Very true - as I've said before, I never had any problems with my Matrix disc even usnig the built-in 1.20E driver.
But back then I wasn't really looking for it - so there is a chance that it could have been *marginally* out of sync but not noticable. But it was subject to intense scrutiny last night, and was perfect!
Anyways, I watched Gone in Sixty Seconds, R1, with the DVD Region X, RGB Scart, and it had no lip synch problems, the guy just spoke before his mouth moved........
:D
