My line has been dropping and resyncing every few minutes since the beginning of the month.
I've tried the Test socket, no difference. I've tried double filtering, removing the Sky box. No difference. I've tried my standby router, no marked difference. I even went and spent £60 on a brand new Belkin F5D8636-4 v2 yesterday. The lines *still* dropping, although the resyncs seem to be connecting faster.
BT say they can't find any fault on the line.
I have asked Freeola to invoke a stability option on my line to see if that makes any difference.
Could my ethernet cables be responsible for the line drops? I haven't yet tried swapping those out.
Could my software firewall cause the router to resync?
Any ideas (at all)?
Neil
There is no need to repeat yourself.
I know what I have tried, and the results I have seen from the tests.
I do have a current support ticket with support.

There are two significant LEDs on my router, ADSL and Internet.
99% of the time, the router drops ADSL with a flashing amber ADSL LED and Internet LED off. These recovers to solid as the line re-syncs.
Very rarely, the ADSL LED stays static but the Internet LED flashes amber then reconnects.
Even rarer, I have to pull the router power or remote reboot to re-establish sync and connection.

i'm starting to think this is a wind up...
I've asked a few times, but can you confirm that the LED on your router is showing loss of sync???

Could it be the channel number causing a re-sync? As I currently have bandwith split, I have a wireless channel and extension channel in use.
Could it be the split bandwidth 20/40 Mhz I have it set at?
Could it be 'protected mode' (currently off) causing re-syncs?
Could it be '802.11e/WMM QoS' set causing re-syncs?
N.
The tests/questions previously mentioned will help...

Could the wifi cause the line to resync?
The laptop is hard wired. The connection was solid for over 4 hours after the format yesterday before I enabled wifi from the router.
The line appeared to start randomly dropping after I enabled wifi which my ipod touch and blackberry use.
N.
I think there was a corrupt installation on the laptop.
I formatted the laptop, and since then the line has been much more stable - with only a couple of re-syncs.
I'm still monitoring the connection for the next 48 hours or so.

RouterStats:
Is your noise margin dropping?
Are you seeing spikes?
Is the loss of sync registering?
Do you always re-sync at exactly the same speed?
Can you post some RouterStats graphs?

Looking at the snippet you posted I'm not sure if it's just the PPP session that's dropping as I'm not familiar with your router.
Your router has an 'ADSL sync' LED on it - presumably this is showing loss of sync every few minutes???

Have you given this a try yet???
ONLY have the router connected and watch your sync light (as Garin mentions - you don't need your PC/Wifi etc. on.)
If you want to try a BT Quiet Line Test as Garin suggested then Google's your friend.
