because the Xbox dosn't have a built in DVD or Broadband/56k modem and Gran turismo 3 wasn't a release game for the play station 2

not strictly true seeing as in the us it's only 30 dollars for teh remote and ability to play dvds...
anyway i think the reason why they didn't include it was it would cost extra....and they know that MOST people have a dvd player already....
think about it people already had to shell out 20 quid to get the official sony remote...
the xbox remote is NOT big and has a heck of a lot more features than the ps2 one.....not that i would use all of them but they're there if you do need them...
ps2 is great but i think x box is good too..

Its only the official remote that is needed to get it working.
