Hi there,

anyone know about this cool new product? I just bought one, hope i get i quick. Then i can play my import of Xenosaga.

*****

Slide-Card is an easy and affordable way for everyone to play their PS2 CD-R or DVD-R backups or original import games. It is a completely "never seen before" solution and alternative to a modchip for PlayStation2.

The Slide-Card has a lot of advantages - just read on!

- WORKS WITH ALL MODELS OF PLAYSTATION2
- THERE IS NO WARRANTY VOID
- WORKS WITH CD-R & DVD-R BACKUPS
- WORKS WITH ORIGINAL IMPORT GAMES
- NO MODCHIP FOR THE GAMES TO DETECT
- NO MODIFICATION TO THE INTERNAL SYSTEM
- NO EXTRA STRESS ON THE LASERLENS
- EVERYBODY CAN USE IT

With the Slide-Card you no longer have to install a modchip to be able to play your backups or original import games. You do not even have to open the console, therefore your Sony warranty stays intact. Normally when installing a backup solution, you have to open your console, and "split" the warranty sticker on the back. Thats all history now...

AFAIK Flip-Top lid WON'T allow you to boot PS1 imports sadly.

As for Japanese imports, try http://www.play-asia.com.

I'm looking to get the flip top lid too because I love playing Guitar Freak / Drummania games that only those jammy japanese get to play.

Does anyone know if the flip top lid will enable me to play my PS1 imports of guitar freaks???

What's the cheapest you've found the flip top lid for?

And finally, where do you get all your import PS2 games from (Japanese inparticular)? I find it very hard to find asian suppliers that has english pages / good stock / ships to Europe.

Cheers!

Whatever route you decide to take, here's a few gaming recommendations.

Psyvariar - Old-Skool Shooter - Imagine Ikaruga but with a more intuative chaining system)

Dodonpachi Daioujou - Again, another Old-Skool Shooter, different to Psyvariar and Ikaruga.

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution - NTSC-UK awarded this 10/10. The deepest fighter your ever likely to play. Button mashers need not apply.

Taiko no Tetsujin - Quirky Japanese Rhythm title that utilises the Tatacon Drum. Great fun and just as good as Samba De Amigo IMO.

That is ridiculous, I made a 'slide card' myself out of a bit of card - didn't cost £27. Anyway you are far better off getting the flip-top. With a slide card you WILL damage your PS2 if you don't know what you're doing.

I too needed and bought a NTSC to PAL convertor, they are ten pound plus postage - I posted the link in the Ninty forum last week, have URL at work so will post it here Tues.

Try tqgames.com for Freeloader and Animal Crossing, you won't find anywhere cheaper.

You should get all three items for under seventy quid, thats over thirty pound I've saved you !!!

I'd get one if I had enough money.
Which I don't.
And I'd need a NTSC-PAL adapter which is a good £30.
And I want to get my GC importing for Animal Crossing.
Bah.

Anyone got about £100 lying around collecting dust.
I'll take if off your hands, no strings attatched.

Flip Top lid is great, costs under forty quid with the boot discs, fits in 10 mins and I've not had any problems since installing it 6 weeks ago.

Highly recommended.
