Slide-Card is an easy and affordable way for everyone to play their PS2 CD-R or DVD-R backups or original import games. It is a completely "never seen before" solution and alternative to a modchip for PlayStation2.
The Slide-Card has a lot of advantages - just read on!
- WORKS WITH ALL MODELS OF PLAYSTATION2
- THERE IS NO WARRANTY VOID
- WORKS WITH CD-R & DVD-R BACKUPS
- WORKS WITH ORIGINAL IMPORT GAMES
- NO MODCHIP FOR THE GAMES TO DETECT
- NO MODIFICATION TO THE INTERNAL SYSTEM
- NO EXTRA STRESS ON THE LASERLENS
- EVERYBODY CAN USE IT
With the Slide-Card you no longer have to install a modchip to be able to play your backups or original import games. You do not even have to open the console, therefore your Sony warranty stays intact. Normally when installing a backup solution, you have to open your console, and "split" the warranty sticker on the back. Thats all history now...

I've just started to be able to complete some of the expert songs now (after 2 years of play!!). The lifespan of this game is amazing.
Thanks for the web link bleeders - I'm very interested in getting my machine chipped now, but apparently the messiah 2 doesn't bypass the stealth detection that is in some of the later PS1 games, guitar freaks included.... I'll wait for a messiah 3 then - unless I can use an AR code to bypass the stealth detection - that's what I did on my PS1. I'll look into it further. Until then I'll keep my trusty PS1 connected up.
I would also love to get drummania / guitar freaks combo with the kit. It's so sad that these games are hard to find and expensive to ship from Japan :( If I were a games publisher I'd snap up the license to translate and sell these in the UK.
Supposedly they reissued it in Japan a few months ago, so it should be quite easy to get, but it isn't. And even then it weighs so much that shipping is extortionate.

Gah. I've not seen that one. How much does the Konami drumset go for these days?
Best of all is in the last two versions of Drummania it was combined with Guitar freaks, so you can do two player with one person on each instrument, on the same song.

You might want to check out http://www.londonconsole.com. This guy installed a Messiah 2 Pro in my PS2 and done an absolutely superb job!

Ignore em'. Some people here fail to realise that gamers such as yourself want to play import-only titles. As a side-note; For import-related banter, you really ought to check the NTSC-UK.com forums.

I'm playing something similar on the PS2 at the moment called "Taiko no Tatsujin". Substitute the guitar for a drum and it's the same ideals. Probably.
I don't particularly want to do that, but seeing as my laser seems to be playing up I might kill 2 birds with 1 stone and get that repaired as well.

I got myself the guitar too! It really is amazing.
Reason I took VGA adaptor back - I found a NTSC to Pal adaptor for a tenner which was alot cheaper and more convenient.
