This is why Miamoto made the new Zelda game with the cartoony look as in E3 he showed the brilliant Zelda game (the cool graphics one) and as he thought the other consoles copied his idea so he made the cartoony Zelda game.
Playstation also copied Nintendo by copying their 3D stick. They also copied other things but I don't think anyone wants to hear anymore so see ya!
It was created by Nintendo under the name N-disk.
It has hundreds of bog standard 2D games.
It has a controller similar to the brilliant SNES one.
It has a lot more FMV than N64 games, although it be a bit jaggedy.
The games are on CD so that they can be bigger, but also have loading times.
It is grey, and grey will never go out of fashion....cos it's never been in fashion.
and...ummmm....it's got a lot of old quality PC conversions, although they be a bit scaled down (take worms for example).
And...er....that's about it.
Having previously owned a PlayStation (I sold it January 2001),being the owner of an N64 and GBA, and having recently bought a Dreamcast (September 2001), I have to say that the PlayStation has to be the crappiest console ever. It's blatant rip-offs of other companies' ideas (they were in like a shot when it came to ripping off Nintendo's analogue stick!), plus the lack of decent graphics, or games for that matter, simply combine to make the PlayStation a console that you either LOATHE or hate.
The CD's used by the PlayStation aren't nearly as durable as those used by the Dreamcast or PC, and I should know as I had a bad experience with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 where an ever so slight fingerprint that barely showed up on the side of the disc caused all FMV on the disc to become jerky. I now own Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 on the Dreamcast and it's lasted much longer and it's a far better game than it's PlayStation counterpart to boot.
The PlayStation's graphics are quite simply, rubbish. They're nothing compared to the mighty visuals that the PS2, N64, Dreamcast and PC are churning out. By todays standards they look like something I deposited down the loo. They FMV on the discs is jerky (without fingerprints on the discs) and blurred and the in-game visuals more often than not suffer from fogging, absolutely horrendous pop-up and some truly tear inducing jagged lines on the textures. Take a glance (yes, a glance is all you'll need!) at the likes of The World Is Not Enough, Tomb Raider 2 and Colin McRrae Rally 2.0 if you don't believe me.
And as for the console itself.......well, it's butt ugly to say the least. Sure, Sony have "updated" (although, "Tarted Up" would be a more accurate remark) their console in the form of the PSOne, it's still ugly and the new model has made none of the much needed changes that would make the console actually worth owning.
I don't see why developers are still bothering with the PlayStation, when it's the most inept console on the planet and also the least powerful (excluding the handhelds, but then the Game Boy Advance is 32bit and has more 2D power than the PlayStation will ever have). The PlayStation is now out of date and is not worth spending the time, effort or money on.

Yeah well, Nintendo were the first ones to use it in a way that made the D-Pad pretty much obselete from that day forward.
They were the first ones to standardise it...
Anyway, surely you don't REALLY hate Nintendo, even if you prefer Sega, surely you don't HATE the big N.
Yuji Naka seems to like Nintendo and Miyamoto VERY much...
Why can't you be more like your creator?

And look at Ninty copying Sony with different coloured consoles... after all, the different GC colours are just a rehash of the n64's different colours, which is just a copy of the PSX's different colours (blue, black, grey) and covers for the consoles...
anyway, u get my point?
