I did get Smackdown 2 and found it tremendous fun.
Me and a mate would create freakish wrestlers with boobs, massive heads and tiny hands and then enter them into the career/story mode.
I'd go into say, the European League and he'd enter Intercontinental or another one.
We'd laugh and dance like women when one of us would lose a match and slip in the rankings or rise to get a title shot etc, good hetero-manly fun.
Get Smackdown 3 and look forward with anticipation.
Except I'm noticing a few...differences (polite version of the word I want to use).
Story mode:
Only 1 character can be played at a time.
That means I can't race my mate to title champ or mock him as he loses to woman.
Just 1 character can be played.
And you can't choose the league you play in, it's a set league with set matches.
Say you lost a match in SM2, you would slip a rank and have to work twice as hard to get back, eventually getting a title shot.
Except for SM3, if you lose then that's it - Game Over.
Start again.
What the fun? That can't be right, surely?
Surely I can enter more than one wrestler at a time?
No?
The graphics are excellent, create-a-freak is still fun.
Sure you can do exhibition matches against a mate, but you can't progress a career together and watch your mutants rise to glory?
I'm missing something here aren't I?
I just haven't found the right option to choose 2 characters to play, simultaneously.
Right?
They wouldn't remove the career mode and just settle for a pre-scripted, one-character only mode would they?
Please tell me I'm just not doing something correct, because otherwise it would appear they have destroyed the career mode and replaced it with a one-player slug-a-thon that ends as soon as you lose a match.
Hmmmmm...nice graphics, but it would appear the guts of the game have been removed and thrown on the floor?
Am I right?
You know who I mean *nods head slowly*
