Why is Crash bandicoot: the wrath of cortex beng called crash bandicoot 5?

1.Crash Bandicoot
2.Crash Bandicoot 2
3.Crash Bandicoot 3
4.Crash Team Racing
5.Crash Bash
6.Crash Bandicoot: wrath of cortex

I have got the latest crash gae for the last 3 years, but this year, whats the point. the new crash adventure doesnt look to great, its just crash 3 with ps2 graphics.

i thought it should be crash 4 aswell...because team racing and bash are not proper crashes...there just different variations. its like calling mgs2 mgs3 because there was mgs special missions thing in between.....unless of course crash 4 is on psone? and noone noticed....my brain hurts

cause crash bash and crash team racing are 2 seperate things and aren't related to the actual crash bandicoot series apart from the fact it has crash in it. it's just like mario. mario kart racing isn't part of the mario series it's just a spin off
