In a clear demonstration of how behind I am, I've only just noticed that Freeloader actually did come out.
Been reading about it and saw they changed all the 1.04 discs to 1.06 because Resident Evil Zero didn't work with it, and the bit about you can't use memory cards with jap saves on with memory cards with pal/US saves on.
Is there anything else wrong with it, and how well does it actually work ? Now I've actually got a Cube (again) I might try Animal Crossing and see what it's actually like....

Is this is the case, then I'll be willing to sell my FreeLoader for around £12 (inc. p&p), as I buy an Action Replay, instead.

NGC gave the Freeloader the Best Buy Award claiming no problems so far with imports (obviously version 1.06 or above)
As for the Japanese gamesaves not being able to go on the same card as UK/US, It would be the same with a modified GameCube as far as I am aware. It isn't a problem.

It's good, good actualy though I wouldn't recommend getting it just for Animal Crossing. AC is a great game, but once you get bored of it, you really will never play it again.
I got bored after a week of solid play. Probably better off waiting for the sequel or Harvest Moon.

The FreeLoader is a good cheap way of being able to import games instead of shelling out loads for an American or Japanese console.
The best deal for getting Animal Crossing is to get it from Goblinedirect.com, they do AC and FL for £38.99 (plus £1.77 for P & P, delivery is very quick). They may give you FreeLoader 1.04 but you can send v1.04's back to Datel and they'll send yo a V 1.06b for free :D
