Is it possible to get a job in gaming where you are responsible for dreaming up ideas rather than actually making them using the technical side?

That'd probably fall under designer, although you'd probably be hated for it : )
It's what I want to be, and been looking around at stuff - apprently most designers would be expected to do some of the programming and other stuff too to get the idea across and show people what you want, rather than just telling them to do it, then moaning when it goes wrong.

Although you probably could get away with it if you could draw really, really well, and get everything across like that. But I'm not sure what you're 'team' would think of you.

But if it is a bad idea then you've bought yourself a crap copyright.

I would, I would copyright my work and make the first thing they see when they open the enevelope is a letter saying that I own the copyright to that work but I am willing to sell it to them if they so wish. If they buy the copyright to it then you can't sue them and if they don't buy it then they obviously think it's a bad idea and wouldn't create a similar one.

This would only happen if you had proof (i.e video evidence or official documents) that you had the ideas first.

Don't send your ideas to developers.
They will send them back unopened because if they use a similar idea in a game they could get sued, by you, for stealing your ideas.

Yeah, plenty of folk do it.

But you have to be sure that each one you think of that you write things down.
Could also be worthwhile sending ideas to developers. If it is well thought out and planned then you never know what could happen.

I'm pretty sure there is. They have to have some one who thinks up the storylines, someone who does the artwork etc and if you go free lance then you can sell your ideas to other companies.

10/10
Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
Second to none...
So far the services you provide are second to none. Keep up the good work.
