Today a group of 'talented and gifted' people at my school (including myself) were given the opportunity to do part of a university course alongside our 6th form options. The teacher didn't really go into details but basically it gives us extra credit and makes elite universities more likely to let us attend.

Just wondering if any other people were offered this or know about the scheme.

Yep, exactly, I think we get a certain amount of UCAS points for completing it too.

It won't help you get in there.

It will only make the Uni give you an offer of a place.

It will just help you get the place, not the grades. Plus you won't really have much to show for it in the future. Just helps get that place.

I've been on a similar programme for the last two years. Basically anyone that could be arised to get SAT's results or something. Nothing special.

"Today, I'll place random objects on a tray- and you'll tell me what was taken away! This will get you into Uni!"

I'm glad it doesn't recommence until next year.

You probably have to have a natural talent for art if you want to do it at any higher level than GCSE.

Ours isn't particularly specific, it is just general talented people. I can take a uni art course if I choose to, but I am **** at it. Damn admin!
