I bought the offical magazine yesterday and was quite dissapointed with the disc, I know they're only demos but the analysing is the worst, more commonly known as "jagged edges" :-(
Its seems to be out of the developers hands to get high resolution SHARP images out of the PS2 so who do you turn to, Sony made the thing lets ask them, When i finally got through here's basically what he said.
We're not quite sure how or why this happens because we don't fully understand the PS2 hardware. I do know of 2 Japanese software groups currently working on the problem, It can be fixed through the software which is why some games are better than others so if the graphics driver is updated which will use the the PS2 in another way it will avoid the Jagged edges commonly seen in pretty much EVERY game out there, The only game I've seen up to now that has it perfected is Metal Gear Solid 2.
In Japan they have the hard drive and modem where you can download extra levels, games etc which allows this type of software to be easily accesible and if this software is installed on the PS2 bit like the DVD driver saved on your memory card when it's running along side the game it will no longer be a problem.
Sweet mother of all that is good and pure (and anti analysed)
before you get too exited I'd just like to remind you that the HDD and modem aren't out here for a little while although he did say they are currently testing it's online capabilities here in the U.K :-)
I don't know if i've said it right and I've probably missed some technical mumbo jumbo out but it will soon be a thing of the past, I think i speak for everyone here when I say WOOHOO :-)
Wipeout fusion-only a demo but nowhere near as good as i hoped, maybe the full game will be :-(
Airblade-top graphics but somehow the two gameplay elements don't go too well together :-(
Silent Hill 2-Outstanding graphics, only a short demo but it scared the **** out of me, when that dude's sitting in front of the TV all blood and that with a massive shadow from the TV static, bags better than I thought it would be,me want :-)
Tarzan-prefectly anti analysed and I do mean perfect but repetetive hell and not my thing :-(
WRC-top graphics, poor game :-(
WWF-will please the fans but I'm hardly one :-(
Dark Cloud-the biggest Zelda rip off I've ever seen but not a bad game mind :-)
Baldur's gate-another one perfectly anti analysed, might be worth a look in this one :-)

I prefer Wipeout Fusion.
WRC had poo-ey hadling. My nan can drive

mine too. She competes in those junkyard races, where you smash into people. She comes home swearing and smellin of alcohol, too. ;)
WWF3:JBI was, quite possibly, the best example of how not to make a fighting game. Ever.
Wipeout Fusion was ok, but in my opinion XG3 is better.

Baldurs Gate isn't my sort of thing.
Airblade was ok, but the time limit was too tight, I'd hardly got used to the controls and couldn't be bothered to try it again.
About the only demo that caught my eye was Dark Cloud, which surprises me as it's not normally my sort of game. Shame the main character looked almost exactly like Link though....
(of all the times to have a typo!)

:)
(anal-ised - lol!)
anti- aliased
:)
