That line is from Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

The movie.
Not the tv series, but the movie.
A funny, funny mockery of vampire movies, with Rutger Hauer as the chief vampire and Pee Wee Herman as his stooge.
An excellent, tongue-in-cheek satire of teen movies and vampire films.

What happens?
They take an amusing and satirical movie and turn it into another sci-fi based serial show where geeks slobber over the female form and download pics of Buffy for wallpaper because THEY WILL NEVER EVER GET LAID THEMSELVES.

Ironic really:
A film that ripped into sci-fi geeks has been adopted by those scary, pasty-sociopaths that dress up like characters and go to conventions where they can stumble around with other dog-boxers and take solace in the break from gut-busting laughter at 20-30yr old, overweight white male nerds fantasise about a woman that will treat them mean.

Tear yourself away from your PC for a moment, stop wearing t-shirts with tv shows on the front, put down that doughnut and repeat after me:

The outside world is not scary.
Sunlight will not kill me.
I should probably wash my hair.

Damn Dirty sci-fi geeks.
Worst tv show ever.

Ok, this won't win me any fans within the Buffy haters club and also will probably raise a few arguments from the Buffy geeks as well, However, Buffy the series is not "a seious show", it presents itself as such, but then takes the rip.

I imagine this could quite easily escape those that just plane don't like the show and the geeks will of course turn a blind eye to this fact so's not to spoil their Buffy universe.

But to those of us that watch with open eyes and minds, the show is surprisingly clever

... and I think it is still penned by the same chap.

I thought the movie ruled.

Luke Perry was called Pike in that movie.

In the TV show the equivolent character is known as Zander.

A zander is also a fish, much like a pike, only smaller.

When PeeWee Herman vampire is dyin, and going "owowowowow" and biting his fingers to ease the pain - that bit is hilarious.

I just can't believe that it's become such a serious TV show.

Kirsty Swanson is much better looking that Sarah Michelle-huge nostrils-Gellar.

The cast of Beverly Hills 90210 all ruled.

Shannon Doherty, Jason Priestley, Tori Spelling. Top class actors of the 1990's. ;-)

Though... to be fair, the film was only made as a vehicle to cash in on Luke Perrys short lived popularity as teen heart throb in Beverly Hills 90210

Which is one of the reasons the film was panned on original release?

Although... curiously, both the movie and the original series were/are penned by Joss Weadon...

(I dont know if he still does? ... Probably far too fat, rich and lazy?)

Ok, we're getting distracted here.

Buffy is a poor excuse for having a girlfriend and mates.

What you talkkin' 'bout fool?

I ain't no soap dodgin' student!

I'm a legitimate man of leisure (as in I now work too)

the rest ofthe time I sit about doing nothing, playing games, supping tea at a quaint little cafe with a young lady friend of mine.

I can watch all the Buffy I want!

Mwaaaa haaa haaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!

Aha, Tarrantman, you show your weakness. When Buffy "takes a step back", you need to take a step back from the TV, and do something else. Possibly go to a lecture, though I realise that is a far-fetched concept for you students ;-)
