What price point does the costs outweigh the specs on PCs nowadays?
SR's MAXX PCs offer a 1.7G P4 for 1199, and a 2.0G P4 for 1499, which is a pretty savage jump...
Does anyone know anything about dual processor PCs?
I'm after something REALLY substantial, but havent won the lottery yet. The 1.7G is a good price, but the PC is a bit weedy. Can I get more power out of a dual processor setup in that price range?

You only get a benefit from a dual processor system is "threaded". That means it basically has to be written to use two processors at once.
I've only really seen dual processors in server boxes, not PCs. Spose you could use the server as a PC.
But once you do, you can thread processes and all sorts.
I don't know what you're trying to do, why you need such a beast, but you'll be paying a fair wack for it and unless you're pretty sh!thot at windows admin, you'd get more for your money putting your own machine together with a fast processor and as much RAM as you can squeeze it.
Is it windows stuff or databasey stuff you're trying to make fly?
