When I sat down to watch this film, I wasn't expecting much. However, looking negatively paid off, as I was treated to a 90 minute trawl through the twisted worlds of thieving, trickery, deceit and death - all of which are concocted into one film. The end product, is "Blood and Wine".

The film begins with a wine seller by the name of Alex Gates (Jack Nicholson) who's live is on a proverbrial sea-saw through time. One minute, he has money to burn, the next, he needs to sell everything he has to stay financially afloat. However, he and his friend Victor Spansky (Micheal Caine) come up with the brainchild of a plan to steal a necklace, worth millions of dollars. However, Gates has family, in his wife, Suzanne (Judy Davis) and his son, Jason (Stephen Dorff). Gates has to keep his family out of his personal affairs, whilst carrying out a slippery task. Despite his attempts, his family become intertwined into the plan. It all begins when Suzanne finds Alex packing. At first, he lies about where he's flying to and then a real argument begins. This despute ends with Alex beating Suzanne until he can get the tickets, but being the strong woman she is, the manages to fight back and bludgeon Alex unconscious. Suzanna and Jason then make a swift getaway, to a local friend's boathouse. Alex and Victor then attempt to find Suzanne and Jason, and luckily for him, he is able to track them down. Then, Alex's main objective is to obtain the necklace. He may have to take lives, but he, nor Victor care. At one point, Suzanne and Jason are being persued by Victor and Alex in a harrowing car chase, with dramatic consequences. Not only now is it an attempt to find the jewels, but to make sure that he, his friends and his family are safe.

Blood and Wine is a flightly unusual film, but a great film nonetheless. It runs at a rather slow pace, but it works to good effect. The storyline is something not seen in a while with all these "futuristic" films being plugged in the last 2 or 3 years. The script is very good, with little or no mistakes or meaningless parts of the script. A large appearence by Jennifer Lopez is welcomed, as she plays the role well and Jack Nicholson and Micheal Caine play the ultimate team of villains. If you are looking for something that's a cut above the rest and a little different, then check this film out. With action and the correct mixture of violence and drama, this is a film too good to miss.

Thanks for reading.
Gaming Guy.

Dtll not sure we understand each other perfectly, but i guess that's not really important. I figure we should just lay it to rest now, yes?

come come now goatboy, you dont seem to have picked up on my merticuously planned scheme. you see, as i have been time and time again persecuted from this forum for attempting to bring a differnt metaphysical angle, because of the unconnotationable mistransformations of the 'warmerings' on this topic i have cunningly graduallly progresseratted through out the entyre collection of Coppolas saga. this was a transsubstansiation of the artistic clikathon, in a drastic measure to bring the goddardian truth before the 23rd. pleaseation forgivon moi. and i will promise to post to your high standard from now on. please i want us to be polite and speak about 'cool' stuff dude, man,

I understand that, but don't tell me to not write a review. I love writing and I will write what I want (in reason) and when I want to. So mate, are we cool now? Ok, cheers. Gaming Guy.

Hmm,
Okay, may not have come across clearly enough in the first post, but i'm putting an opinion out there, no more no less. Wasn't intended to hurt anyone, not abusive to anyone, just putting an opinion out there.

Would it have helped if i'd balanced it out by saying that i thought it was an inteligently written review, if leaning a little on cliches? That's my opinion of the review, but it didn't seem particularly worth saying.
Someone has to say this though: What the hell are the forums coming to when you can't post an opinion without wrapping it up in compliments and watering it down so as not to offend people who don't look at things clearly and objectively, and take every 'negative' word to be a personal insult, overreacting hugely (just check out the response - no offence gaming guy (as if proving my own point!))?

I don't want to create any bad blood between myself and gaming guy, non of what i said was intended personally (proving it again?).
But what have we come to? I'm not saying there's no need to be civil, but does that mean we have to go so far down the road of political correctness and stifling nicities that we can't say anything at all for the pussyfooting around anything not entirely neutral?

Let's not go that way, all it takes is the time to look at posts for what they're saying before getting needlessly emotional.

Offers hand to gaming guy...

I liked the review.
I can't stand the film, but who cares who reviews what?

And Special Edition is a childish, sub-plankton moron that needs to make some friends and stop coming here under different names (Michael Corleone/Part 2/Special Edition) and get a life.

lol, just checked out the stats. gaming guy, 140 posts is not 'half that amount' of my 450 posts! and you're a long way short of 'nearly that amount of words', try that again in about 8000 words. yes, you're accumulating stats faster than i did, but, i think exaggeration... borderline blatant lying! (i know you'll take that too seriously, try not to!)

jeez, chill out, cut the caffeine out of your diet mate!
'orders'??? just an opinion on he importance/relevance of the post, if you don't want people to have opinions on your views, just don't tell anyone your views!
and if you're going into my word count, i've been around on and off for that year, not a solid year of posting, and i only post when i have something to say, instead of posting all the time with lame reviews and stuff (kidding, calm down). quality not quantity

I'm not trying to start a fight here or anything, but just don't

more ???'s here, and a little less caffeine again pls (if that doesn't sound too much like orders!)

anyway, chill out (as i've said a number of times), i'm not trying to 'pick on you' or order you about because of my 'purple name'.

not everyone has the same opinion as you do, and they have just as much right to their opinion. i suggest you get to grips with that

Sir, I can review it if I like and I'm not going to take orders from you. You must be a bad poster or something, because you've only done 420 posts and 34,000 words in over a year. I've nearly done that ammount of words and half that ammount of posts in a week. I know that you'll say that mine stink or something, but according to the replies they get, I am competent.

I'm not trying to start a fight here or anything, but just don't pick on me. Don't think that just because you have a purple name and "regular" next to your name that you're anymore superior than I am. If you were a Notable, then it would be fair enough, but I still wouldn't expect this. Capish?
