Well maybe or maybe not a delay, but there's still a few/several months to go before its release. So what's there to do in the meantime? Buy a PS2? I surly hope NOT!

One of the greatest consoles of ALL time! If you don't own one, go get one, NOW! They're so cheap nowadays that you can't possibly pass up the opportunity to get one. I've seen them going for as little as £25.

What am I talking about?

Yes the N64! That great console you may now dismissed as yesterdays console, or even SOLD it! Well here's some reasons why you should keep it, and keep on playing on it.

Well the reason you should buy one is that the games are soo great! Well if you like platformers and first-person-shooters anyway. If you're an avid beat-em-up fan, then you should probably get a Playstation. The N64 never really had many beat-em-ups made for it unfortunately. But if you really like platform games, then this is the console for you. With the absolutely CLASSIC, Mario 64 for starters (a game that every gamer the world over, SHOULD own), then there's both the Banjo Kazooie games, the massive Donkey Kong 64, Jet Force Gemini, and Conker's Bad Fur Day.

And if you're a fan of first-person-shooters, then I say that the N64 is the best console to cater for you. The joypad for starters is just sooo much easier to use to play them, than the Playstations pad. Well the ones I sagest you get are, Perfect Dark. I've put soo many hours into that game and still haven't completed all the solo missions on all the difficulty levels, or level 30 on the multiplayer missions. Also, Goldeneye. One of the greatest first-person-shooters ever, FACT! If you really want a FPS for its solo game, then I sagest you get Goldeneye out of the above 2 games, but if you want a great multiplayer game also, then get Prefect Dark. I sagest getting both! Then if you still need more, get all the Turok games. They're great good ol' go round shoot anything that moves kind of FPS's. I recently purchased Turok 3 and i'd say it's the Half-Life of the N64 in term of content and style. Then finally there is Forsaken. I really liked that game. It's a FPS where you fly round in a space ship {Desent style} and I absolutely luv it.

Now for the racing games. Well first of all Waverace 64 has to be mentioned first. It's the greatest water based racer I have every played and no other game has come close to matching the wave effect in this game, (well maybe the wave effects in Waverace: Blue Storm on the Gamecube). I've bought 3 different water based racers on my Dreamcast to try and find one to match Wave Race, but none have come even close. You really should get this game when you get your N64. Other than that there's Mario Kart 64. Many games have tried to copy Mario Kart's style, but none come close. GET IT! If you're a big fan of the Mario Kart style racer, then you should pick yourself up a copy of Diddy Kong Racing. Much the same as Mario Kart, but made by Rare. In this game you get to ride 3 different modes of vehicle and the single player mode I think is far better than Mario Kart's, due to the adventure aspect of the game. If snowboarding games are your thing then you should get 1080 Snowboarding. You may have played Cool Boarders on Playstation or SSX on PS2, but neither of them compares to 1080. Well if your into futuristic racing games, a-la Wipeout, then the N64's got the two Extreme G games. I'll admit that they're not quite as good as Wipeout, but they're pretty good. And going that I picked Extreme G up for £2.99 no-ones gonna complain. Also there is an incantation of Wipeout on the N64. Also, a classic futuristic game has made its way onto the N64. F-Zero, in the mold of F-Zero X. If you liked the original on the SNES, then your gonna luv this version. Much the same in style, it uses basic backgrounds so that it can cope with the very fast pace and the fact that there's 30 cars on track at once. One last futuristic racer I almost forgot to mention is Star Wars: Episode 1 racer, it's great fun, even though some of the later levels are a bit of a nightmare to complete. If you like rally games then the N64's got Top Gear Rally 1 and 2, and they're pretty good. The 2nd game of which has a random track generator after you complete it, which helps add to the longevity of the game. Another rally game I recently bought for £2.99 Multi-Racing Championships was REALLY good, and if you like rally games I definately advise you to get that game. If you like good ol' arcade racers then the N64's got it in the form of it's own version of Ridge Racer and World Driving Championships.

If originality is your thing, then you should get Blast Corps. It's a very quirky game created by Rare whereby you have to demolish buildings n stuff to stop a truck carrying a nuke crashing into them as it travels across the levels. Also, Pilotwings 64. It's a very enjoyable game where you have to fly using a plane, hang glider and jetpack to accomplish various tasks.

Last but not least, if you want to play Zelda then your gonna have to get an N64. Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time is regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time and with good reason to. It's an absolutely brilliant action RPG that all game players MUST OWN! Also, that game was followed up by Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask. While the story might not be quite as good as Ocarina's, this game is also brilliant. Playing just the same as the previous game, which is a good thing, you have more dungeons and temples to explore, and apart from the main adventure there is soo much extra to do in this game that you'll be playing for ages.

So as the Gamecube isn't going to be released for some time yet, make the most out of your N64's! Go buy all those games you wanted when they came out ages ago, but couldn't afford them!

I've bought sooo many new N64 games lately and there just brilliant. And going that most of them only cost me £2.99 each makes it all the better!

Ooo I saw another new stash of N64 games today in town!

The stupid thing was that they were in the shop window on a peg, and were in bags. Thus you couldn't see what hardly any of them were, cos they were all infront of each other!

One I did notice though was Smash Brother, but that was £25!

I also saw a GB Transfer pak for about £12 in WHSmith.

You said pick up a copy of Mario Kart, well first you have to find it! I've been looking everywhere for it for ages, I want it soooooo much it's an ace game.

Wave Race is really good game, I got it with my N64 aswell as Super mario 64, it was good when I needed something different to play on, I still even play on it now.

The N64 didn't really have any good beat 'em ups apart from Super Smash Bros. this is another ace game which I want but can't find anywhere.

Totally agree, there still tons of life in the N64. Okay a lot of you are gonna say it's dated, but i'm still picking up some damn good games at cheap prices.

I will be still playing my N64 maybe even after the Gamecube has been released, there's too many good games too ignore it.

There's still tons of games I want for it.

I agree though, the n64 didn't do as well as it deserved, but even

Stale? NO!

I still pick up Waverace and 1080 every now and again to have a go, cos there just great fun to play once in a while.

I've bought 6 new N64 games in the past month and I think there GREAT. Specially Jet Force Gemini, Multi-Racing Championships, and Turok 3 out of them.

I was thinking that my N64 was getting dated after playing on my Dreamcast and so was considering getting a PS2 as the launch of the Gamecube is soooo farrr away. But now that i've been playing on my N64 again, i've changed my mind. There's still life left to be had out of my N64, and so i'm going to be playing it until the Gamecube arrives on my door step!

The N64 was put down for being carteridge used and that companys didn't want to produce games on carts. But I agree that the N64 shouldn't be forgotten. If you have a member of your family who has a PS2 (like me) then you can play it and save up money for GC. That's what I am doing these days. But my N64 is and will always be, up there in my room waiting for me.

*bursts into tears*
