'a single value (as a mean, mode, or median) that summarizes or represents the general significance of a set of unequal values '
In terms you may likely understand better, It means to most often.
Why, oh why do magazines insist that their average mark is a '6' then?
When I read publications such as NGC and NOM, when I see a '6', my mind always jumps straight to the thought that it is a crap game. Why? Because all the other games are getting 9's.
A 9 for me means that the game is almost perfect, oor is as close to perfection as can possibly be, and 10 shouldn't be an option - Unless it is perfect in every sense of the word and appeals to every age group with never-ending life-span it isn't perfect is it? There will always be a downside.
When i see a review I want to see what it is actually like out of ten, not how much the magazine has been paid to give it great marks or how much hype its had.
The point of this post? there was none.
woRd.
I'll stop there, but you get the picture...where do you draw the line. ANd how accuratly can you mark something so subjective anyay?
Likewise, 9/10 means somewhere between 85-95%.
And in any case, review ratings really are a complete waste of time.
:D

:)
55/10 = 5.5
When the decimal point is .5 or greater it's rounded up.
Hence the average is 6.
Though, if you include 0 as a score, the average is 5. Anyhoo...
Why then do most games get at least a 7? Because they get lots of free stuff, and if they started giving a company's games low marks they probably wouldn't receive many more games from the company to review.
