I've only ever done it on real snow!

And I learned with instructors. Do what I do, get parents who are teachers and take school skiing trips. Go along, but instead of skiing go snowboarding, so that you don't have to put up with the little brats all day, and you go enjoy yourself getting taught how to snowboard. Tiss the good life!

>Snowbording would be so cool. I have never tried it but i've all ways wanted to go. There are two problems. One of the problems is when I last thought about going and i couldn't find anywhere near me to go. Living in the countryside may be the problem but I couldn't find anywhere to go snowboarding. My other problem was when I found a place it was a long way away and it cost lots of money mainly because I would probably need lessons. In the end I didn't go and SSX Tricky was the nearest I got to Snowboarding. By what you say the money might of been worth paying as it seemed like great fun. Just like to know, where did you go?

Cool!

So did you practice at one of those places where you surf along this... stuff with gaps in it?

I suppose it would be good for me to practice there first, but I've seen and heard that you can really hurt yourself on those things - catching your arms and legs in those holes and stuff!! :S

So I'd rather learn on the snow - if that's possible?

It's brilliant fun! If you know how a snowboard works n stuff properly before you start, then it's not too hard to get in to.
It doesn't really hurt when you crash in the snow. Speically not the off piest stuff which is really deep. That stuff just really annoying when you fall over in it, cos it takes you fekin' ages trying to dig yourself out and get going again.
We came up to our first jump (some big mound we found at the edge of the piest) and I was going first out of our group to try it. Never done a jump before so I hit it at quite some speed. Flew into the air and about 16-20 feet down the slope, before landing on me ar$e and burying myself. I was glad the snow was about foot or two deep, cos it didn't hurt in the slightest. I do have a video of that jump, but couldn't manage to put it on me comp before coming back to uni, so you'll just have to wait to see it. Some guy did take a lot of photos of us with his digital camera, so I need to send him a CD to put them on for me. There's some really cool looking ones. Of the mid part of the jump, where you still look cool, before ending up on your butt somewhere!

You've been snowboarding?? Cool! I wanna go someday! :)

What's it like? Is it hard to get going or what?
Does it hurt when you crash and hit the snow??

I'd never want to go skiing though, your legs have too-much freedom.
And those skis could stick ANYWHERE accidentally...!! :S
One leg could go one-way, the other the other way, and... :S
Plus; a lot more people seem to break their leg(s) skiing rather than snowboarding.

One day... One day, I'll be on a snowboard somewhere plummiting over the edge of a cliff like an idiot...! :)
