It's been a long time since I last got up at a half decent time.

I work late into the night (after getting back from clubs) as punishment.

Oww, my ears.

You can't hear people talk, unless they shout down your ear, and then it really hurts.

Fortunately, I work with a deaf guy at my part time job, and am getting fairly good at everyday sharades. But nobody else is.

My poor ears.

Ah well. It was nice to get out again, been doing far too much uni work lately :^(

After GCSEs ive had that same feeling afterwards and also yes, Most the people admitted it changed them as a person in someway. For some it was a 1st encounter with the real life world, as you have to work for higher things. It doesnt just come to you :P I remember one friend, hes actually damm bright person. But he slacked through classes etc and in turn, got only 3 Cs.. Its ok, but in terms of his real potenial. He also did relise that he should of worked etc to have gotten anywhere :P

Hes working full time in a small street shop now.. knowing them kind of people. He will be there for another 30 years :P

I wouldn't say they were life-changing either - whether you get a string of As or fall well-short down at the other end. All the way down there...

One thing I'll always remember was the feeling I had afterwards. I approached the exams a little too care-free, I must admit. And therefore, I let myself down and averaged C grades when I could've quite easily gotten Bs or As based on some of my coursework.

I can recall finishing one exam, and I'm certain that, after I'd left the room there was this huge let off of steam from one side of my head - I certainly felt an awful lot of pressure removed -- suddenly, it was all gone! There was nothing anymore!!

I looked forward to returning to school after that, instead of dreading waking up each day. Many people said, in my AS year, that I had gone back a changed person even!

...And then it all fell apart for me in the second year, thankfully I got through it all and found something else. :)

Heh, believe me Chippy, I'm not usually that organised :-)

I don't get all the emotion over GCSE results. Fair enough if they actually have an effect on where you go next year but they're very rarely lifechanging. People who are ecstatic with them when they get what they all knew they were going to get, I just sort of think... hmm.

I was pleased that I got the results that are what I expected in relation to the amount of effort I put in, that was about as far as it went. Couldn't even raise a smile for the CEN photographer. So I'll be standing at the edge of the picture looking moody :-)

Seeing all those over-emotional people getting their GCSE results on the local news earlier really got me thinking - it was only 4 years ago I was doing the same, but was I ever really that small???

Even the A-level-ers last week looked younger than what I remember being at that age... Then again, I've been doing a lot of physical work since then I suppose, at college aswell as at the depression known as 'work'.

Good news is, I got my new phone today - after something like 18 months of planning! :D

I only ordered it about 24 hours aswell - excellent stuff from I site I was a little unsure of! It's the Nokia 6610i. It cost about £100, sim-free, from www.onedaymobile.com.

I also finished the wall-shelf project I've been working on in-and-around other things for the past week; somewhere to store my 50-odd DVDs (and more!). And with thanks to everyone who gave me web advice further down this thread, but I've seen MSN now do a free 'My Space' thing where you can upload photos - so, I might as well use that, for now. :)

Obviously, I'll let you know when it's done. ;)
