> Awww, poor lad. Do you actually know Cooky then, in person?
I'm a living consiousness on the internet... it's impossible to know me in person...
;)
> Is it me or has the WLT turned into everyone's personal blog space?
It's just a place where people come to talk about anything and nothing. And rarely computer games... but who's complaining...
:)

I'll have to check when I get back to Boro which'll be probably next weekend now. The possibility of a 2nd interview has kept me down here, as it'd cost a fortune to go back and come back again!
I think it'll just cover from September until this time next year tho. But the landlord will let you stay on over the summer aslong as ur still paying rent. Though my mate whose doing the course bogged off home the other week as he doesn't technically have to be there anymore, to write his uber-long dissertation thingy.

There always BT..... :S
:)
> What the hell am I going to do ?!
I had a mate on my course, and no-one knew his real-name, and we all called him by his Quake alias we knew him by from too much network playing in the labs. Anyways, he finally turned round one day and said that'd he'd rather be called by his real name... which we then asked what it was.
It's always uncomfortable when you know someone for quite a while, but don't actually know their real name. But in the end, you've just got to bite the bullet and correct people. It'll be uncomfortable for about 5mins and then everyone will forget about it, or just laugh about it.
:)
Oh, and this might cheer you up, an eBay fraud getting caught and made a fool of. Its long, but very amusing: http://www.mannequin3d.com/powerbook/
Not only am I a couple of grand down on my masters funding for next year, but the insurance company are refusing to pay out on my stolen bike.
What's the f***ing point in having insurance at all if the f***ing f***s refuse to ever pay out on it?
And now, if I had the dirty thieving scum who f***ed me over to steal it and there were no consequences for me, I could quite happily jam a box cutter into their worthless face. Screw that, I'd introduce it to their juggular :^(
And the printer I bought on ebay is defective, it looks like another piece of s*** is trying to f*** me over.

You know Cooky? Did I read that right?
If so I didn't see that one coming. :^)

Yep, even that smiley screwed up.
Poor you...
*pats Duck*

My real name is Huw, which I'm sure you can't easily confuse with Matt :^)
I guess I'm going to just have to correct them too, next time I see them I suppose...
Bad bad bad news today, I found out how much EU funding I'll be getting for my masters.
At first I'd been worried they might pull the plug after the EU enlargement (reallocating money to eastern Europe), then I reassured myself that they must have prepared for the enlargement years in advance, so the money would still be somewhere around the guide level they'd given me - course fees plus £80 a week.
In fact the reality is somewhere between the two - course fees plus £2,000 over 48 weeks - around £40 a week.
Jeez, that'll barely cover my rent. I was thinking about having to work part time to free up some cash anyway, but now it's looking like an absolute necessity...
Hmm, if I can clear my overdraft before I go back there, I'll have an extra £1,500 to add to that 2 grand.
And I do have £1,000 saved in premium bonds - i was hoping to save that for when I move away to start whatever career I end up with. But I guess I'll have to chuck that in too...
So £4,500 over a year, £90 a week.. Maybe £70 of that on food, rent and bills...
Then there's course books, clothes, at freshers fair you always get hit up for loads of cash...
And of course by the end of it I'll be in financial trouble, at the edge of my overdraft with no savings to fall back on. It'll make it tough to finance moving somewhere new to start work...
Cooky, does N have a copy of our rent contract? If so, could you check the total cost for me, and that it covers the full calander year? Thanks.
Maybe I'll get a second job now, doing evenings and stuff, try to save a bit more before the start.
It's not been a good year for me, looks like things may not change for a while. :^(
