What a fine old pickle I'm in. While I sit here and read all your comments on GTA3 being the best game ever, and all the cool stuff you can do in it, I still don't have a copy. Why? Because I'm a greedy git. Here's my problem - There's the possibility that, seeing as I'm in the 'industry' and everyfink, that I may blag a free 'promotional' copy of the game. But, this may not turn up for a week, two weeks, maybe not at all. Working for a games company and all, obviously the temptation is there to just go downstairs and buy a copy, but then, knowing my god-awful luck, the promo will turn up five minutes later.
So, what would you do? If you stopped talking about it, that might help. I'm an impatient sod, but not to the tune of 30 odd quid. But it sounds really good. But I might get it for free. See what I mean? What do I do? Help me, please.

take the FREE promo to tide you over until you decide to buy it or not which i recommend you do(GTA3 has the 1st Mystique seal of approval)
and then use the promo as the best door stop ever or a coaster ...or bonfire night is coming up..you could get a group of kids who arent old enough to buy it and force them to watch you strap the game to a rocket before sending it to a colorful explosion of fantasicness!

what? its not like he's going to get anything for it on part ex cos promos have "not for resale" plastered all over them and they dont even come in a PS2 game box and instructions.

Ali isnt trying to win, he works for Special Reserve. I think the answer to his question is obvious just buy the game, then if you get a promo copy give it to charity... or repackage it and give it to your friends as a Christmas pressie!

2 weeks? Gah, too long. Buy it NOW! With the amount of top PS2 titles coming out in the next month, you'll need a bit of time to get through this one.
Mind you - Isn't the made game by Scots.... you'd be best to get the pPromo copy - it might have an EXTRA EXTRA Violent Glaswegian mode where eveyone is out to kill you!
