I agree with all of you. I hate playing guessing games with people and I also rarely log on. I usually set it to "appear offline", mainly so I can tell who's online at the mo and to talk to people if I urgenty need to. It's very annoying when you come on to do some research/fogging, and 5 people start up a conversation with you.

Damn good point - I've done the same.
I only know people under their names from these forums - if that changes, they're blocked.
Though I have to say, I rarely run it... I don't mind chatting to people, but I don't like having my screen explode in a flurry of Messenger windows every time I log on. You can't reply to everyone, and then all you get is "Why are you ignoring me?"
