Well, i've owned the Nintendo Gamecube for nearly 3 months now (its our anniversary on June 1st) and i'd like to express my thoughts on the console in this relativly pointless topic. In fact don't even read this, i'm just gonna babble on about my experiances of having the console and what not.

I first became interested in the Gamecube about last November. Being a hardcore Xbox fan for sometime, I was shocked at my sudden change of heart but I wanted one so badly. So on March the 1st 2003 I traded some stuff in and purchased my Gamecube. And who'd of thought how good an Xbox and a Gamecube look next to each other...

Quite a few GC titles interest me, which is why I brought the console in the first place. Right now I own 4 Gamecube games, and here are the ratings i'd give em: -

Resident Evil - 9/10
Super Mario Sunshine - 9/10
Super Smash Bros Melee - 8/10
Pikmin - 6/10

Well, i'm not exactly loaded with cash so purchasing games can be difficult, but i'm semi-happy with the games I have now.

Resident Evil is scary, puzzling, full of atmosphere and holds some excellent eye candy! Definatly my fave GC game so far.

Super Mario Sunshine is decent I guess, but I think the "jet pack" thing was a bad idea, kinda turns it into a generic platformer. But still, Its a fun game to play at times, and frustrating at others....

Super Smash Bros Melee is really fun once you get into it, Loads of game options and stuff, I love it! I've never tried multiplayer mind, I go round to my mates houses to play multiplayer Halo (8 player) none of them are interested in the Gamecube.

Pikmin, Sigh, Used to be a really cool game at first, But i've just given up on it cause its so god damn GAY! The Pikmin get stuck behind something, attack things when you don't want them to, Or fall into the water for no reason. ITS SO ANNOYING! And its uber-patronising aswell. Has the ideas for a great game, but it makes me want to throw my Gamecube out the window.

Enough about the games, The console is extremely well designed! Its so small and sleek, I love it! It fits perfectly next to my mighty Xbox and brings some color into the area. The controller is pretty decent, The only annoying thing is the stupid Jingle at the start-up of the machine, still, It's all good.

In the near future I hope to pick up quite a few other Gamecube titles, Zelda, Metroid Prime and Burnout 2 ect ect.

I still think Nintendo had a poor E3, and their marketing of the console is poor..

So thats my thoughts of the Gamecube, Brilliant console, Brilliant Games, Brilliant Developer behind it.

I'll shut up now.

Pikmin is like god to me.

Like a pizza to an Italian.

like French Bread to a French man/woman.

Like a car to an engine.

Like a cheese to toast.

That is all I have to say.

Thank you for your time, god bless you.

Both Smash Bros. and Sunshine are highly overrated, plus Pikmin is better. Length doesn't matter when a game's that good.

If it had more replay value I'd agree.

In terms of sheer time spent playing, Burnout has been the best game I've bought in a long time (though it didn't take very long to complete).

Pikmin 2 will be infinetly playable...sort of.

It has no timer so you can just play around in the levels and also the underground cave areas in the levels are going to be randomly generated.

Excellent!

On the screen-shots you can see the sun-dial thing.

Yeah it still has the day system but I mean you aren't limited to a certain amount of days, you can just keep on going until you're blue in the face if you want.

It wouldn't work without the day system really, though when you're in the underground caves the timer stops so you don't have to rush around.

I can't wait for this game.

Problem with the "day" thing is at night, you have to watch the stupid FMV sequence of him and the onions flying off.

Then the patronsing captains log.....

"BLUE Pikmin seem to have gills, this means they can swim in water, cause they are BLUE colored, water is colored BLUE, like the BLUE pikmin type I found"

If they took some of the frustrations out I suppose it'd be ok.

In fact I might just go and play Pikmin now....
