"Any Pirates! equivalents around?"

I have Pirates Gold, but I was wondering, as its buggy and looks awful, if there were any similar Carribean based games, where you can generaly make a nuissance of youurself and chase after governers daughters...

I was just having a quick look for Pirates! type titles myself,
(I did find a couple of relativly recent titles, but then I forgot them!)

When I noticed, that Sid Meier is making a new Pirates game himself (yay!)...

At the moment their only the press release;

But at least its on its way?

it'll probably be one of those games that seems like it'll never come out, like the next Duke Nukem game.

May have to buy, unless Pirates 3D is anytime soon.

I've heard it's a half decent game. another equivalent (almost) Would be Age of Sail, and Age of Sail II. They donj't really involve pirates, but there are a lot of naval battles. You can board ships and attempt to blow them up and rob them, but in the name of the navy.

Port Royale sounds like an available Pirates 3D.

Seen any reviews people?

It's a shame that threr were no pirates in colonization.

I loved Colonization too.

Colonization might be a good equivalent, but you can't run it on XP, but you can over DOS on ME.
