It is now almost a year since the Playstation 2 was released. I currently have 6 games for my Playstation 2. Although this might not seem many to some people, I am happy with the games I have got and there is not too many other games out that I really really want. Although more funding would have meant I would have had some of those good but not desperate to get games.
I am the type of person that if I get an idea into my head, i do it. Due to my tendency to do this I need certain games on release day. I even took in 2 of my games, as well as 4 of my sisters gameboy games (unkown to her, of course) so that I could get Time Crisis 2 as soon as it came out.
As I said previously, I am currently happy with my games collection. Then along comes November, and a flurry of games. I have been eagerly anticipating Pro Evolution, GTA3, Tony Hawks, Airblade, Burnout, Silent Hill 2 the list goes on, and on.... and on. With me living on canned food being a 'student dosser' in the words of my all knowing Uncle (Doc H if anyone ever peruses the nokia ringtone newsgroup) I have a severe lack of cash at the moment. It would be impossible for me to even buy one of these games in my situation. I do not like renting the games as they just increase my desire to buy the game.
I do not often post topics on the message boards, but have been a member for a while (as you can see by looking at my stats). I do not usually feel the need to post as other peoples discussions are very informative and show a lot of viewpoints similar to my own.
Today I read that Devil May Cry has been delayed until Mid December(ish). At first I was devastated, but once I have thought about it I would welcome this for a lot of games. Personally, I would prefer games to be delayed by even longer times so that releases were not too congested. This way my anticipation would grow, but I would not lose interest by renting the game out or playing it at a friends house. This way I would also possible buy more games as I would not waste my money through a lean patch of games. I know that my views would not be shared with everyone here, hopefully I am not alone with my thinking though, especially all of us skint 'student dossers'.
I warned you it would be very long.
