Im not trying to say the GBA is pointless (I think its a great idea) and I know it has sold millions, with Nintendo owning 90% of Japans portable gaming market, and virtually all of the UK's, but I think it should have been more successful. Where are all the superb games? They are on the GC. I think GBA should have came out a year later so that GC could have died down a bit, allowing a stack of games for the GBA. Please post your views.

the gameboy advance was not really a big hype!
thats quite likely why it was such a letdown! this is because nintendo didnt adversise the console much and were keeping it very hush hush!

The nintendo people charge way too much for games and consoles, i mean i went over to tenerife and got a gbc for only £30 brand new when it was just released instead of the outragous price of £70 here in britain. what kind of person would really go out and pay £70 on a handheld games console when you can buy a playstation for only £90?

the playstation 2 was a really widely advertised and man people expected it to be really good but some things went wrong with it and sony couldnt keep up witht he demand. Nintendo on the other hand didnt really advertise the gba until it was released. i mean it was a big hype in the new handheld consoles industry, which nintendo have more or less taken over, but for most people it was not much better than the gbc!

i think if nintendo waited another 2 years or so to release the gba then it would have been a huge sucess because it would be outdating the gbc by about 3-4 years!

Theres still loads to come on the GBA, developers are still seeing what it is capable of. Then some of the great games arent coming out till there GC link up game is released as well. Keep looking around Cooky you can get good deal on the GBA, most (nearly all) retailers have put £20 on top of the price that Nintendo wanted (greedy Bu**ers)! If you get it from somewhere such as game station in London (think thats what it called) They were selling some for around £65! Also another good place to try might be CA games they do anything and everything nintedo (loads of imports)! And because you can play games from anywhere on them you can import them and sometimes get them cheaper (games as well & cheper). But then again there is alway good old SR, which you cana get some reddies from to get a free gift for your new GBA!

The GBA is GREAT and is very successful!

Well I haven't got one yet but i've played on one though.

I was in G**e today and they had special offers on GBA. Like a GBA, Mario Kart, and a 4 way link cable for £118
I asked some guy in the shop that if I bought 4 of them could I get them for £100 each. But he was having none of it!

Can SR do me a decent deal???

:)
