You cant just get a DVD game and copy it with a CD-writer if thats what you mean.

It is possible but why risk damaging your PS2, voiding your warranty just to save a few quid on cheap and nasty copies. Also the PS2 doesn't play CDRWs.
By 'chipped' I mean you take it to a shop or a special chipping person and they will enable your PS2 to play games from any country in the word, AND ones burned onto CD-R and CD-RWs. Hercules has got it done, they fiddle around inside of your machine thus voiding the warranty (which, with a Sony machine, is never a good thing IMHO).
