That's what I don't like - just slashing away mindlessly. I like strategy and prolonged boss-fights.
It remind me of those really old "RPGs" on PC. Where you were 'the knight' - in first person perspective, walking around boring dungeons and slahing at bugs for about 5 minutes, then again, then again, occasionally getting some money or experience.
Those were the funny days.

I aggree with you Kingdom Hearts' battle system is a nice change from the turn based style but i do find that it can get repititive. Sometimes its just a case of locking on to the targets and just pressing the X button till they die. There is not most variety in what you can do other than attack or uae magic.

I would compare the Kingdom Hearts battle system to The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time, its a case of locking on to your target and slashing away at it (if you are using a sword). Also on the screen is the classic FF command menu with the choices of Attack, Magic, Item and another one used for different tasks.

I'm not really bothered, as long as there are no restictions when it's placed in one or the other.

Everyone slates the turn-based system for being too slow and boring, but when you've been hammering away at a boss for half-an-hour it's really exiting as every turn could put you on top, or kill you.

To be honest, I don't mind. I used to really like the turn based style, for ff7 and ff8 etc, but after a while it got a bit annoying. FF10 patched that up a bit, where there was a set order for each, rather than just how quickly your ATB bar went up. Kingdom Hearts was a nice brak from that, and now i am ready to go back to turn based with ffx-2
I think that turn based is better because with real time the camera sometimes goes weird but that is just probably just the game i have played.
