I doubt if Mario will last that long. Did Pac-man? All characters die eventually..

Indeed, Nintendo's primary concern is making the GameCube shift that thirty something million units to hit targets.

Though I suppose I could do without it. Nintendo's got the strongest 2003 line-up of the three consoles, and from a personal viewpoint, I'm too busy to buy every single game that looks good on all three of my consoles. I'm sure I'd be just as happy without Mario 128.

This would mean Nintendo would release a class console with an excellent launch to really make themselves a player in the home console business.

Or they could not give up on the GC and release it on it, instead of a launch game.

Mario will be in the shops by the end of next year.

The next Zelda *will* come out on GameCube, as it utilises the Wind Waker's engine and graphics. Mario 128 is a bit of a mystery, as it's merely been announced. It's likely it'll appear on the 'Cube, but I wouldn't mind if Nintendo held it back and refined it to give the next console a killer opening line-up.

It'll appear on Cube, Cube 2 is a hell of a long way off.

Because Mario 128 *is* Mario 64: 2?

They've crossed it over to another console already, surely they wouldn't do it again?
