I am looking to get a new graphics card to replace my Hercules Prophet 4500. I have a limited budget and am not sure what to do? Looking around the best I can get for my money appears to be a Radeon 9000 (I have £100 -£150) However, there looks to be about 15 varieties by various companies, how do you know which is best? And will an upgrade from my Prophet to this card be worthwile and noticeable??
Lots of websites give reviews and mark there cards in benchmarks...great...this means nout to me! If I upgrade how will the graphics compare to a PS2?
I have a P4 2GhZ with 512MB DDR Ram and 80Gig HD. Would this system with a Radeon 9000 play something such as GTA Vice City as well as my PS2 does?
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
ARGH MINE EYES BLEED IN SYMPATHY :O(((
18 months I've had this system, it came pre-loaded and set up, and had a Disk that said it contained the manual for the monitor....As the monitored worked ok, i.e. I had 32 bit colour and all the res I would ever need, I never put this disk in..until now....and what is on it?
DRIVERS!!!
I installed them and can now change the refresh rate up to 100HZ, picture is much better!
Although I do feel bit daft!
Thanks for the help!
Download this and set it to the Refresh Rate you want and make sure your monitor supports it.
I'm running windows XP H.E. my monitor does not support above 60Hz, it is set to 60Hz in Properties. I didn't quite understand what you were saying? Please explain!
