It's just the standard Ninty reply to us saying that their machine is for kids.
This very same logic can be applied to the PS2, it's just that Ninty's don't want to believe or admit it. The PS2 is stereotyped as being a SequelStation, whereas in reality, like most stereotypes, it's far from it. Many sequels that do appear have many new updates or are just ports.
It's strange how you consider ports on the GC not to be sequels, yet on the PS2 they are...
