"Web Design Company Competition"

I have only recently started using the forums here again, so I was too late to enter the logo competition by Turbonutter - Well done everyone (and congratulations Reaper!).

However, when I read through the thread, I realised what a strong community exists in these forums. Everyone grouped together for an interesting and enjoyable competition. People were praising others, and nobody was angry at the decision for the winner. Therefore I thought we should continue this idea, so we can all have a good time again.

Using the same idea, but a slightly different situation, this is my idea. I have read several threads where people have said they are professional web designers (a position I hold myself). One of the most difficult choices when becoming professional is the company name and slogan.

Therefore, I suggest a competition to find the best name and slogan for a small web design firm. There are no conditions for the name, though the slogan should not be more than 10 words max.

I will judge the competition at the end, and if I do win an FAD or GAD, I will donate this to the winner. The closing date for applications is Saturday 3rd November.

I doubt SR will just give you a FAD or GAD to give away, they like to run them themselves. Other people have asked before.

Generally, as the site is mainly for games, this forum doesnt win a lot but due to our seperate little community we have here we win FADs on the other pages and offer our prize away.

Good luck talking them round though....

Just out of interest... how old are you? And are you any good with development?

thats a good idea, so I will set a closing date when SR donate a FAD or GAD to this thread.

as for the background to the business. aim the business at SMEs (Small & Medium Enterprises for those of you who didnt know), and this company specialises in sites with heavy scripting, though it is capable of using flash etc. The sites all look very dynamic and professional!! as you would expect from a good web design firm.

as for my site, it is currently undergoing a major revamp, so i will post here in about 2 weeks when it is finished.

my favourite so far is Turbonutter's name/slogan - so he's the one to beat!

I hate trying to do stuff like this without any background...

What's the markey the firm is aimed at?

What's it's strengths, weaknessess?

Set a closing date after you win a FAD?

I am going to donate an FAD or GAD if I get one. its only fair because all i did is set up the comp and judge the winner. its u lot who are doing the brainwork and thinking up the names.

btw, does everybody think 3rd November is OK, or shall i bring it forward coz its too long??? i was thinking maybe this Sunday (28th oct).
