There are a few romours going araund that perfect dark is a sequel to Goldeneye, but you could argue that T.W.I.N.E is a follow up, but it isn't made by the same company that made Goldeneye.

I'm confused, does anyone know if either of them is a follow up?

Neither are follow ups. EA made T.W.I.N.E and although Rare made PD it has neither a James Bond License [obviously] nor James Bond himself. Obviously TWINE is closer but as it is an EA game.

Anyone got ideas on a Pefect dark release for Gamecube? I read a few months back that it has been in production since August 2000, but it wont be ready till late 2002.

TWINE is terrible and by no means a sequel to Goldeneye.

Perfect Dark is a fantastic (if you are wondering about getting it.... wonder no more.....)
It's not a sequel uses the same engine (with major improvements in all aspects of gameplay) and is of course developed by Rare... nuff said.

Can't wait to see the sequel to PD on Gamecube....

Perfect Dark is more of a sequel to Goldeneye than T.W.I.N.E. will ever be!because as you said, it's made by the same people, has the same game engine + it has the guns and some levels from Goldeneye, I really can't comment any further because I still havn't played the other Bond game, but if you want a sequel, the PSX had a game called tommorrow never dies, that's a sequel although it has to be said that it wasn't any where near as good as Goldeneye.

Technically neither.

Perfect Dark was originally going to be a follow up, but Rare didn't get the film license. (I think it was going to be Tomorrow never dies)

And TWINE is made by a different company and is not even in the same league as Goldeneye, its only a follow up in the movie sense.
