This was pointed out to me the other day. I hate to admit it but what ever happened to the decent games we were promised? Bouncer for one. It came out and we all agreed that it was as pooy as the days before loo paper. Crazy Taxi. OK, some liked it but personally, where was the point? Lets pick people up and drop them off . . . NO Let us mow them all down!!! We finally came to a peak in Gran Turismo 3, but it system can't live on that all its life. We get promised all the graphics and stuff but so few games seem to use them. From what I've seen, The Simpsons: Road Rage, is set to be good. OK, exactly like Crazy Taxi but surly funny. But what happened to the power of the PS2? The 3rd place? Those sketchy polygons seemed more at home on a SNES than a new generation console.

We all read about the games in the pipeline. Smackdown 3, Tony Hawks 3, Final Fantasy X, hang on. Maybe theres something wrong with all of this. Where are the original games? Why are we being fobbed off by re-makes that may be as bad as the layer of filth sitting on top of your Sega Saturn. Are these people stupid? Sequals are great, and I'll be buying the 3 above. But why don't they show us a new, fantastic game that will really shock the unbelivers like a famous fiolm star turning gay over night. A new game trying to spin the world.

Come on people, we want some decent games!!

yea the only thing that's remained the same with final fantasies are
1) the battle system (but if it ain't broke don't fix it)
2) and the fact you get a guy named cid in every game

Games like Final Fantasy X are less like a sequel than something like Luigi`s Mansion. That Nintendo game is just yet another 3-D exploring game with Mario family characters and cuddly graphics. Final Fantasy X admits to being a sequel by putting a number after it, but only because its the same style, not the same story as well. Everything is changed from one Fantasy to the other, rather than just changing the main character and some small gameplay details.

SSX and Timesplitters for example. Like them or not, these are brilliant, original, classic PS2 titles. :¨)

(Oh, and don't get SSX now. You might as well wait for SSX: Tricky)

There are a lot of superb games on the way, sequels and otherwise.
No machine is producing 100% original titles all 3 formats are as "guilty" of producing sequels if you wish to view it like that.

Personally, aside from Tony Hawks 3, my most anticipated game is ICO, it sounds and looks superb and is alledgedly a highly original title - so there :-P

Seriously though, I don't see a problem with the state of the PS2. So there have been a couple of over hyped disappointing games, show me a console that hasn't produced these and I'll shut up. Until then, acquire the facts before you post and I shall be happy!

Not that I'm saying you should prioritise my happiness, post what you like :-)
