How does it feel when you know a games company wants to make more money out of you? Iíll tell you now, it feels disgusting. Most games companies try to avoid this, but when you have a hugely successful game they can do this ñYes Iím looking towards you ëSports Interactiveí

The latest edition to the Championship Manager series ñ Season 01-02 ñ has left me amazed at how this company can get away with such a rip off!

You may think I am saying the game is absolute rubbish here but in fact Iím not, I play the game for hours a week it really is quite addictive, but I feel conned in to buying the latest edition so I have stuck to my old 00-01 edition. When I brought the 00-01 edition I wondered why SI had brought it out as an actual new game instead of just an add-on for CM3. There were hardly any new features to make it an actual new game and I felt incredibly ripped off.

Now with the latest instalment it is almost identical to the previous instalment but with a different transfer system and updated players ñ I can download that off the Internet. Already SI have released a patch for the game on their website, it includes all updated players and a few fixes. Why didnít they just let me download what is contained in CM 01-02 instead of me going out to buy it ñ a whole £24.99! Thatís the price of a whole new PC game! Or if they wanted to make more money why not just bring out an add-on disk like other games companies?

The reason, well, they know CM is one of the most popular PC games ever and so they are retailing an actual ëadd oní as a ënew gameí. I canít even transfer my old saved games which I have worked hard on to the newer version, I have to start again just with a new ëlets compare two players statsí feature.

Surely doing this will make people like me not buy the game and cause some people just to pirate the software to save themselves their hard earned cash that would be wasted on something you could easily of got for free to update your old version.

I would like your opinions if you have brought the game please and if you own the older version, is their really that much more? Are you satisfied? Do you feel ripped off?

Same here, that edition was pure class.

I may not get the new one-I'm still addicted my game on 01/01, in which I'm in year 2021 with PSV Eindhoven.

I have a footy manager sim called 'Ultimate Soccer Manger Season 98/99' I find this a much better game than Championship Manager. It can be bought for as little as a fiver aswell!

I got the game two days after its release for £24.99. I agree that this is just an update to 00-01 but I donít feel ripped off. I would feel ripped off if I played this game for a couple of hours then got bored with it, but I havenít. Since I got this game, I have played no other game on my PC or my PS2. That is how good it is.

I would feel more ripped off if I brought a PC game and played it for an hour and just said to my self, ìthis isnít any good, why did I buy this?î and then I never played it again. But with Championship Manager, I think my game clock is on something like 11 hours and it will go a lot higher than that.
