I think SR should create a new page where you can vote for the game of the year, here are my contenders...

FIFA 2002- Although this may not be the best game in the world, it's popularity will make it a favourite.
Chances-75%

Pro Evo Soccer- The ISS series are known for great gameplay and the new PS2 edition is no exception. A FIFA beater. Chances- 81%

GTA3- Lot's of controversey always surrounds the series but the government cannot stop this from being a cracking game. Chances- 67%

Gran Turismo 3- The best racer ever? You bet it is.
Chances-95%

Smackdown JBI!- A new improved Smackdown! with similar gameplay but will be a gem amongst wrestling fans.
Chances- 49%

Burnout- Excellent arcade smash em' up.
Chances- 50%

Best Beat `em up: WWF SD3 JBI.

Best aerial combat game:ZOE.

Best Mech game: ZOE.

Best shoot `em up: Time Crisis 2.

BEST OVERALL GAME: mmmmmm, Resident Evil CV, GTA3, GT3, SD3 JBI, so many to chose from. Mmnmmmmmmm SD3 JBI, it'll last for ever...

Best Music game: MTV Music Generator 2.

Best RPG: FFX on import, or Dark Cloud on PAL.

BEST OVERALL GAME: I don`t know. Its wide open, but I`d probably go for either SSX (tricky or the original), Devil May Cry or Gran Turismo 3.

Devil May cry...looks stunning and the gameplay is great, top notch game

a little known game called MGS2..........oh ok maybe it is a bit well known :)
DOA2 - often gets overlooked for tekken but in my opinion doa2 is far superior


and also i'd like to include even though not on ps2

Champ Manager 2001/2002 - the series has spent the most weeks in the charts than any other this game has gotta be a contender
