Anyhoo, PS2 has nothing appealing whatsoever. Xbox has at least got power behind it, allowing games like Sudeki, Fable and Halo 2 to look wonderful, not to mention Doom 3 etc. Ps2 on the other hand, while it does have the interminable GTA series (oh. joy) and Ico/Rez, has very little else.
It has also 'lost' GTA, Metal Gear and Final Fantasy to other consoles, its three strongest brands that kept the PSone so strong.

What? I enjoy my GameCube more than the PS2, that's a certain - but the Xbox is easily my least preferred console. Xbox games kick PS2's butt?

Cannot compare to the Xbox? Look at the sheer quantity of games, for crying out loud! For any decent Xbox game, you'll have at least two PS2 ones.

Xbox is great, Gamecube's great.
If you're gonna buy 2 consoles they're the best 2 to own, there isn't a single big series of games other than GTA (which looks like it'll be out on Xbox very soon) that isn't available or bettered on GC and Xbox.
